“DIGITAL COURT – MOCK TRIAL – 2025”

     The appellate round of the annual mock trial competition, organized by the Mongolian Bar Association, was successfully held in the courtroom of the Capital City Civil Court of Appeal on June 7, 2025.

     Chief Judge G. Davaadorj, as Chair of the Civil Law Committee of the Mongolian Bar Association, initiated the idea of conducting this year’s “DIGITAL COURT – MOCK TRIAL – 2025” competition entirely in digital format. With the active participation of law students, the competition was successfully organized.      

First Instance Round – Virtual Court Simulation: Students analyzed pre-distributed electronic case files and evidence entirely online, without using any paper. The first instance hearings were conducted virtually via an online platform, allowing participants to experience the structure and logic of court proceedings in a fully digital format.

This mock trial offered participants not only valuable practical experience, but also the opportunity to assess and work with digital evidence in a simulated online court environment. It significantly contributed to the development of their legal knowledge and skills while laying the groundwork for future involvement in digital court processes. 

The participating students showed strong support for the digitalization of the judiciary, and the most significant outcome of the competition was the clear shift in their mindset.

It was a meaningful event that not only enhanced students’ practical skills and prepared them for real-world legal practice, but also captured public attention, inspired confidence in the next generation of legal professionals, and contributed to the advancement of judicial digital reform.
